Without a Plan, Your Legacy Could End Up in Court

Understanding Trusts

Probate is costly and time consuming, not to mention that it can be emotionally and mentally taxing.  It is also public, so anyone can see what is happening within your family.  This is not your only option.  With the right trust in place, you can keep your affairs private, move assets smoothly to the next generation, and spare your loved ones from the grind of drawn‑out court processes.

Also! A trust isn’t just about the future — it’s about control today. You decide how your assets are managed, plan ahead for life’s curveballs (including what you wish to happen if you become unable to manage your own affairs), and lock in the security you want for your family.

From coastal property to investments to a family business, a properly funded Oregon tust is your blueprint for protecting what matters most and ensuring your legacy lives on in the way you intend.

My Process

Your Path to Peace of Mind:
Building a Legacy That Lasts

  • Compassionate Conversation

I start the process by getting to know you: understanding your goals, your family dynamics, and your financial picture.

  • Customized Plan

I guide you through the decision-making process with respect to various aspects of the trust, explaining your options and how each choice will impact your goals so that you can make informed decisions along the way.  No two trusts are exactly the same because no two clients are exactly the same.

  • Secure Foundation

In addition to drafting, I prepare some limited funding documents for you and provide detailed instructions for you to accomplish the remaining funding activities, so your trust operates smoothly and as intended.

  • Ongoing Support

As your assets or family needs change, I am here to help you adapt your trust to ensure it continues to serve its purpose for years to come.

Client-Centered Approach

Experienced Guidance. Lasting Protection.

  • You Work Directly with Your Attorney

From the initial consultation, to the design meeting, to the signing, I am personally involved at every stage.

  • Flat Fees, No Hidden Costs

You’ll know the total cost during the initial consultation, so you can plan confidently.

  • Tailored Strategy

No two trusts are the same because no two clients are the same. Every trust I create is crafted personally, by me, to ensure it aligns with your goals.

  • Dedicated Follow-Up

After your trust is established, I provide ongoing support and review to keep everything aligned with your wishes.

  • No High Pressure Sales

The service I provide is valuable, and my clients understand this as well. I do not need or want to utilize high pressure sales or scare tactics to get clients to sign up. If you're not ready to move forward, that's your choice. Estate planning needs to be something you are ready to do, and when you are, I will be happy to work with you.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. A “pour-over” will ensures any assets not already in your trust are transferred properly after your death.

If it’s a revocable trust: yes, you can amend or revoke it at any time while you’re alive and competent. Irrevocable trusts have different limitations, which I’ll explain clearly if your situation warrants such a discussion. The use of irrevocable trusts is rare in my practice, but not unheard of.

The trust will not control your assets and your estate may end up needing to go through probate.  I’ll provide you detailed instructions regarding funding your trust so you can make sure this is properly accomplished and your trust works as intended.
