You are Not Alone

Losing a Loved One Is Hard Enough Without Legal Complications

Understanding Probate

When someone passes away, families are suddenly faced with a long list of legal and administrative tasks at the very moment they’re grieving. Court filings, asset inventories, creditor notices, and strict deadlines can feel overwhelming.  Oregon probate requires months of documentation, court oversight, and careful attention to detail, all of which can add stress during an already painful time.  With the right support, you can navigate the process with clarity, confidence, and compassion.

I take on the legal aspects of the probate proceeding while providing clear and direct guidance to the Personal Representative for the rest.  I can also provide referrals to other professionals who may be required in the process, such as CPAs or realtors.  You do not have to walk this path alone.

You don’t have to shoulder the legal burden alone.
I’ll be your guide, handling the complex legal work with empathy and precision while providing you with clear instructions for all the tasks you will need to perform.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Probate is not a quick process.  It takes at least 6 months, but can take longer depending on many factors.  Sometimes, it can take more than a year.  I work to streamline the process wherever possible.

No.  Some assets can bypass the probate process entirely.  I’ll review the situation to determine the most simple path forward.

Costs can vary greatly depending on the complexity of the estate, and I bill hourly for my time in probate matters. Unfortunately, while I prefer to work on a flat-fee basis (and I think my clients prefer this as well), it is really impossible to do that with the vast majority of probate matters are there are too many unknowns at the outset. There are certain exceptions to this that I do charge flat fees for (e.g. Simple Estate Affidavits and probates that meet very specific requirements). Let’s talk about it for your situation.
