Legal Professional Responsibility

Although legal ethics has not, historically, been the primary focus of my career, it has always captivated my interest and been closely intertwined with my work. Early in my career, I served on the Oregon State Bar’s Legal Ethics Committee for 3 years, working with a dedicated team to prepare formal ethics opinions on various issues brought to the committee.  And it is not uncommon for there to be an overlap of ethical issues in malpractice claims.

Transitioning to private practice, it was natural for me to expand on my 20 years experience in handling malpractice claims to also start advising lawyers on their ethical responsibilities.

In addition to providing ethics advice, I assist clients in responding to ethics complaints filed with the Oregon State Bar, responding to subpoenas, and various other matters arising out of their professional duties.

I am a member of both the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers as well as the American Bar Association’s Center for Professional Responsbility.
